Our Women's Bible Study is now studying the fascinating story of The Rebellion of Absalom, 2 Samuel Chapters 13-19. Absalom’s Rebellion is a story that would make a great TV mini-series. With the right writers, producers, director, and actors, we could be looking at the next sensational show! It has everything: a despotic, flawed king, his emotionally damaged children, and friends who are bad influences. Drama ensues, and things go from bad to worse, shockingly and horrifyingly.
This story, though, has one HUGE difference with TV dramas. God tells it in Holy Scripture, which means it’s not meant to entertain but to tell us His story. In other words, this story bears witness to Christ (John 5:39)!! If you struggle to see how the historically accurate story of a rebellious young man can have anything to do with Christ, join us and find out!
We will take a short intermission just before Christmas to do a two-week mini-series on the Immanuel Prophecy for Advent, and finish the Absalom study in January.
There will be no Bible study on December 29.
Join us every Sunday at 1pm to learn more about this pivotal moment in the history of the Christian Church.
Can't join in person? Join us virtually! LINK FOR NOVEMBER 24, 2024.
